Barbie Harger, an acclaimed soprano/actress/dancer, has a wealth of performance experience in music theatre, opera, operetta, straight play, and on the concert stage. She has performed throughout the United States with various touring companies, including the Mantovani Orchestra.
Born in Tulsa, she holds Bachelor of Music Education degree from Oral Roberts University as well as double Masters of Performing Arts degrees in Opera and in Music Theatre from Oklahoma City University.
A sparkling stage presence, Barbie Harger is frequently double-billed alongside her husband, tenor Gary Harger. In addition to their active solo careers, the Hargers are in great demand as a duo on the recital stage as well as for guest appearances with symphony orchestras.
Along with her performing career, Ms. Harger teaches voice for all ages and especially enjoys working with children, particularly those who are mentally or physically challenged. As a choreographer, she works in schools and churches and has made exceptional progress in creating after-school programs for inner-city pupils.
Recently, she assisted her husband in launching GWH Musical Productions, Inc., which promotes live, high-caliber Broadway entertainment for the community. With their many years of stage experience, the Hargers enjoy creating, producing, writing, and performing cabarets for all types of audiences.
Ms. Harger also serves as cantor at Holy Infant Church in Orange, Connecticut. She and Mr. Harger are parents to a five-year-old daughter, Shaylen.
